Common Questions

FAQ

Answers to the questions we hear most often about fence installation, materials, pricing, timelines, and more.

What types of fences do you install?+
We install wood privacy fences (3 rail), 3 or 4 board ranch fences, chain link fences, field fences (woven wire), white vinyl fences, aluminum and metal ornamental fences, custom driveway gates, farm gates, and walk gates. We also install and repair automatic gate openers.
How much does a fence cost?+
Fence pricing depends on the material, height, total linear feet, terrain, and any custom features like gates or staining. We provide free, no-obligation estimates — call (713) 269-3159 or fill out our quote form and Greg will come measure your property and give you a firm price. No surprises.
How long does fence installation take?+
Most residential privacy fence jobs are completed in 1–3 days. Larger projects (acreage field fencing, long ranch fence runs) may take 3–7 days depending on scope. We work efficiently without cutting corners, and we always communicate the timeline upfront.
What areas do you serve?+
We’re based in Brookshire, TX and serve the surrounding west Houston area including Katy, Hempstead, Sealy, Pattison, Columbus, Waller, and greater Colorado County. Check our Service Areas page for more details on each community.
Are you licensed and insured?+
Yes. Pride of Texas Fence Company is fully insured. We’re a family-owned, locally-owned business that takes professionalism seriously — you’re protected and in good hands.
Do you offer free estimates?+
Absolutely. We offer free, no-obligation estimates. Greg will visit your property, discuss your needs, take measurements, and give you a written quote — usually same day. There’s no pressure to book.
Can you repair my existing fence?+
Yes. We repair all types of fences — wood, chain link, vinyl, field fence, and metal. Common repairs include replacing rotted posts, fixing sagging gates, patching chain link, and re-stretching field fence. We also repair gate openers.
Do you install automatic gate openers?+
Yes. We install and repair gate openers from major brands including LiftMaster, Mighty Mule, and Apollo. This includes the motor, wiring, safety sensors, remote controls, keypads, and loop detectors if needed.
How do your fences hold up in Texas weather?+
We build fences to handle Texas heat, humidity, and storms. We use pressure-treated lumber, galvanized hardware (not staples), and proper post-setting techniques.
What’s the best fence for privacy?+
A 6-foot or 8-foot 3 rail wood privacy fence with tight pickets is the most popular choice for maximum privacy. White vinyl privacy fencing is also a great option if you want zero maintenance. We can talk through the pros and cons of each for your specific property.
What’s the best fence for horses or cattle?+
For horses, we typically recommend 3 or 4 board wood fence with or without wire mesh backing, or field fence (woven wire) — both are safe and strong. For cattle, field fence or barbed wire on wood posts is the standard. We’ll configure the right setup based on your animals.
Do I need to be home during the installation?+
No — you don’t need to be home. We’ll discuss access, property lines, and gate placement during the estimate, and you can let us in on install day or give us a gate code. We clean up the site before we leave.
